The visitor center is very modern and give you great historical context for the site. The entire area is well-maintained. You can walk from the visitor center or take bus. The experience is worth the effort to trek out to this locale from more central tourist site.

It's an awesome pile of rocks. Not worth 23£ BUT if you approach it from the north you can just walk up to it on a path FOR FREE and totally legal. You can get super close to it. Just drive up to this coordinate on the map (51.1897696, -1.8237083) and continue walking for 15 min.

Even shutdown its a great place for a social distance outing. Lots of places to park and a nice walk through the fields to the Heritage site. You can't get inside the inner fence line, but you can still get great views of the site and enjoy a picnic in the surrounding fields.
